Still moving up – the median home sale price for the greater austin metro area was $296,999 in Jan this year. That was a 2% increase from last year at the same time. The number of homes sold fell 2% to 1,598 comparing this January to last. Less homes sold, higher price point on the transactions.
The average number of days a house remains on the market was 72 days for January. We had 2.3 months of inventory available to sell. Slightly higher than January in 2018. See our blog post from last year defining the months of inventory for why this is important.
Growth remains strong for Central Texas, but the pace has normalized this winter.
